Hydrafacial is a deeply cleansing, exfoliating and hydrating treatment that delivers consistent, visible improvements with no irritation or recovery time. Using a patented vortex system, it gently lifts away impurities while infusing the skin with active serums tailored to your individual concerns. At L’Atelier Aesthetics, every Hydrafacial is performed by our trained skin specialists Bronte and Kate, who personalise each step to your skin type and goals.
Hydrafacial Pre-Treatment Guidance
Hydrafacial requires very little preparation, making it one of the most accessible treatments we offer.
To get the most from your appointment:
- Arrive with clean skin where possible, free from heavy make-up or skincare products
- Inform your practitioner of any active skin conditions, recent procedures or sensitivities in the treatment area
- Avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids for 48 hours before treatment if your skin is sensitive or reactive
- Let your practitioner know if you have had any recent injectable treatments, so the approach can be adjusted if needed
During your visit:
- A full skin consultation and assessment will be carried out before treatment begins
- Bronte or Kate will tailor the treatment steps, serums and boosters to your individual skin concerns
- No anaesthetic is required
- Treatment time is typically 30 to 45 minutes depending on any add-ons selected
What to Expect Immediately After Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial is a comfortable, relaxing treatment with no pain, burning or downtime.
You may experience:
- A gentle flushing or rosy appearance immediately after treatment, which settles within minutes
- Skin that feels deeply cleansed, soft and noticeably hydrated
- A visible improvement in radiance and clarity straight away
There is no peeling, swelling or sensitivity following a standard Hydrafacial. Most patients leave the clinic with a healthy glow and refreshed complexion.
Hydrafacial Post-Treatment Care
One of the key benefits of Hydrafacial is that no formal recovery protocol is required. However, a few simple steps will help protect your results and keep your skin looking its best.
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or above before going outdoors, as freshly treated skin can be more receptive to UV exposure
- Keep the skin hydrated with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser
- You can apply make-up the same day if you wish
- Avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids for 24 to 48 hours following treatment to allow the skin to settle
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms and intense heat for 24 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise for the remainder of the day if your skin feels warm or flushed
There are no restrictions on washing your face or continuing your usual skincare routine from the following day.
When Will I See Results from Hydrafacial?
Hydrafacial delivers immediate results from the moment your treatment is complete.
- Instant improvements in hydration, radiance, texture and clarity are visible straight after treatment
- Results typically last for several days to a week following a single session
- With monthly treatments, results accumulate over time, leading to clearer skin, reduced congestion, more even tone and improved overall skin health
- Hydrafacial also enhances the absorption and effectiveness of your home skincare products, making it an excellent foundation for a wider skin health programme
For patients with ongoing concerns such as persistent pigmentation, congestion or early signs of ageing, your practitioner will advise on a course of treatments and whether combining Hydrafacial with other procedures would further support your goals.
Who Should Not Have Hydrafacial?
Hydrafacial is suitable for almost all skin types, including sensitive and rosacea-prone skin. However, it may not be appropriate if you have:
- Active skin infections, open wounds or cold sores in the treatment area
- Severe or cystic acne in the areas to be treated
- A known allergy to any of the active ingredients or serums used
Your skin specialist will carry out a thorough assessment before treatment to confirm suitability and select the most appropriate serums and boosters for your skin.
When to Contact Us
Hydrafacial is a very safe and well-tolerated skin treatment with an excellent safety profile. However, please contact L’Atelier Aesthetics if you experience:
