Hand rejuvenation at L’Atelier Aesthetics uses a combination of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and biostimulation to restore lost volume, reduce the visibility of veins, tendons and bones, and improve overall skin texture. Treatments are tailored to each patient and may include Ellanse dermal fillers or collagen injections depending on your individual concerns and goals. All treatments are performed by Dr Duncan Brennand at our 101 Harley Street clinic.

Hand Rejuvenation Pre-Treatment Guidance

To prepare for your hand rejuvenation treatment in London:

• Arrive with clean hands, free from hand cream, moisturiser or nail products
• Eat before your appointment to ensure comfort during treatment
• Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your visit
• Avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen where possible, unless prescribed by your doctor
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment to minimise the risk of bruising and swelling
• Inform your practitioner of any previous hand treatments or injectable procedures in the area

During your visit:

• Clinical photographs and consent will be completed if not already done
• A member of the team will cleanse the hands thoroughly
• Optional numbing cream or local anaesthetic will be applied for comfort prior to treatment
• Treatment time is typically 30 to 45 minutes

What to Expect Immediately After Hand Rejuvenation

Hand rejuvenation is a well-tolerated procedure with minimal downtime for most patients.

You may experience:

• Mild swelling and puffiness across the treated areas
• Light bruising at the injection sites
• Temporary tenderness or sensitivity to touch
• A feeling of firmness or fullness in the hands immediately after treatment

These effects are entirely normal and typically resolve within a few days. The final result will become clearer over the first one to two weeks as any swelling settles and the product integrates fully into the tissue.

Hand Rejuvenation Post-Treatment Care

The hands are used constantly throughout the day, so it is important to take a little extra care in the days following treatment to protect your results.

• Avoid applying pressure to the treated areas or kneading the hands for at least 48 hours
• Keep the hands clean and avoid submerging them in water for prolonged periods in the first 24 hours
• Avoid strenuous activity involving the hands, such as heavy lifting or gripping, for 24 to 48 hours
• Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or above to the backs of the hands daily, as sun protection is important both during recovery and to maintain long-term skin quality
• Avoid extreme heat including saunas, steam rooms and hot baths for 24 to 48 hours following treatment
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce bruising and swelling
• Moisturise the hands gently with a fragrance-free product once any redness at the injection sites has settled

When Will I See Results from Hand Rejuvenation?

Hand rejuvenation delivers both immediate and progressive results.

• An immediate improvement in volume and fullness is visible following treatment, with veins, tendons and bones appearing less prominent
• Results continue to enhance over the following weeks as the skin settles and the biostimulatory effects of the treatment take hold
• Improvements in skin texture and radiance develop progressively over one to two months
• Results typically last between 12 and 18 months, depending on the products used and individual factors

Who Should Not Have Hand Rejuvenation?

Hand rejuvenation may not be suitable if you have:

• Active skin infections, open wounds or compromised skin on the hands
• A known allergy to hyaluronic acid or any components of the products being used
• Certain autoimmune conditions or skin disorders affecting the hands
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
