CoolPeel Laser Pre-Treatment Guidance

To prepare for your CoolPeel laser treatment in London:

• Arrive with clean skin, free from make-up, moisturiser or SPF
• Eat before your appointment to ensure comfort during treatment
• Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids and active skincare for at least five to seven days before treatment
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure and sunbeds for at least two weeks prior, as tanned or sun-damaged skin is more susceptible to adverse reactions
• Avoid waxing, threading or any form of physical exfoliation to the treatment area in the week before your appointment
• Inform your practitioner of any active skin infections, cold sores or recent changes in your skin before your appointment

During your visit:

• Clinical photographs and consent will be completed if not already done
• A member of the team will cleanse the skin thoroughly
• Topical numbing cream will be applied prior to treatment to maximise comfort
• Treatment time is typically 30 to 45 minutes

What to Expect Immediately After CoolPeel Laser

CoolPeel is a well-tolerated procedure, though the skin will go through a visible healing process in the days following treatment.

You may experience:

• Redness and warmth across the treated area, similar to mild sunburn
• Dryness and a sensation of tightness in the skin
• Light flaking or peeling as the skin begins to renew, typically from day two or three onwards
• Mild sensitivity to touch and skincare products during the healing period

These effects are a normal and expected part of the resurfacing process. Redness and tightness typically settle within one to three days, and any flaking resolves naturally as fresh skin emerges beneath.

CoolPeel Laser Post-Treatment Care

Careful aftercare is important following CoolPeel to support the skin’s healing process and protect your results. We recommend the following:

• Keep the skin clean and wash gently with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free cleanser
• Apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser frequently to keep the skin hydrated and comfortable throughout the healing period
• Use a broad-spectrum SPF 50 every morning without exception, even on overcast days, as the skin will be significantly more sensitive to UV exposure following laser treatment
• Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids (AHAs and BHAs), vitamin C and other active skincare until the skin has fully healed and your practitioner has advised it is safe to reintroduce them
• Do not pick, rub or attempt to remove any flaking skin, allow it to shed naturally
• Avoid make-up over treated areas until redness and flaking have fully resolved
• Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and hot baths for at least 48 hours
• Avoid prolonged sun exposure and sunbeds for a minimum of four weeks following treatment
• Avoid waxing, threading and any physical exfoliation to the treated area until fully healed

When Will I See Results from CoolPeel Laser?

CoolPeel delivers progressive results as the skin heals and collagen regeneration takes place beneath the surface.

• Initial improvements in skin texture and brightness become visible as the healing process completes, typically within five to seven days
• Continued improvement in tone, texture, pore appearance and radiance develops over the following weeks
• Collagen remodelling continues for several months after treatment, with the full benefit of each session building over time
• A course of three treatments spaced four to six weeks apart is recommended for optimal results, with a single more intensive session available for those with greater correction needs

Who Should Not Have CoolPeel Laser?

CoolPeel laser is not suitable if you have:

• Active skin infections, open wounds or cold sores in the treatment area
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• A recent history of significant sun exposure or sunbed use in the weeks before treatment
• Certain skin conditions or a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation that has not been discussed with your practitioner

A thorough consultation and skin assessment will be carried out before treatment to confirm suitability, discuss your goals and ensure the laser settings are appropriate for your skin type and concerns.
